Extending and remodelling an existing house can allow us to consider exciting possibilities to create a truly unique and personal home, while at the same time providing opportunities to reconfigure a existing layout to suit your family’s needs.

Transition Between Old and New.

Through a series of explorations, OHA were able to consider the possibilities of alterations within the existing house, opening up the floor plan to create a family kitchen and dining space. The recessed, flat roof link structure provides a new light-filled entrance hall at ground floor level with a first floor bridge landing. This structure makes an interesting feature of the transition between old and new, guiding you through from existing to the new contemporary two storey extension that houses an additional bedroom and playroom.

Real Character

The home is set in an idyllic South Herefordshire plot, with large picture windows taking full advantage of the rural vista. The grey standing seam cladding and blue smooth bricks contrast the existing building to emphasise the transition between new to old, whilst sensitively sitting in the landscape.

The end result is a delightful family home of real character.
