Project: 2 Family Houses – Bartestree
Client: TNW Property
Main Contractor: TNW Property

The client’s aim was to create two generously sized, modern family homes adjacent to a 19th C house in the village of Bartestree. OHA’s response to the brief was to use a flat roofed design to maximise internal space and minimise building height, while employing a parapet roof to enable an array of roof-mounted solar panels to be concealed from ground level view. The building’s visual impact is reduced through a series of interlocking and overhanging forms, and the south facing rear bedrooms are enhanced with a set-back, covered balcony extending the whole width of the building with views towards the village playing fields.
